If you're a women, you know what I'm talking about.
You got it - BOOBS!
No, this isn't some Breast Cancer Awareness post.
GASP!!
I know, I know, WHY IN THE WORLD I AM TALKING ABOUT THIS HERE?
You see, I have two boys, ages 7 and 2.
They could be either just like their daddy or just like every other boy out there.
It started with James.
At the age of 2 he was fascinated with momma's boobs.
The most embarrassing is always when we're at Wal-Mart
Why do they feel the need to love and hug me by poking my boobs?
It hurts, and so they get a reaction for sure!
Seriously!
Now it's Parker's turn.
Just in the past week or so he has succumbed to the "booby trap!"
I scold him and tell him to stop
But he seems thinks that poking my boobs should be something of interest to him.
It did eventually stop with James and I am sure that it will with Parker too.
So I'm curious...
is it just an understanding of things that are different around the age of 2?
Or is there truly something inherent in a man's brain that thinks that they are toys?!?!
Please tell me there are other momma's out there that have experienced this.
Please don't make me feel like my boy's have some weird imagination that I need to worry about for the rest of my life.

Beth,
I would love to say it's just the testosterone kicking in, but it's something ALL kids go through (at least in my experience). Some more than others and boys definitely do seem to have a greater interest.
I remember Luvyna nursing her baby while I nursed Karina (she'll kill me if she sees this on the internet!!). All of my kids, nieces & nephews and babysitting kids all went through this phase.
As Grandma Mark used to say, "And this too shall pass." :)
Even my daughters did the whole poke the boobs thing so I dont think its just a little boy thing lol
Both Joseph and Joshua will come up to me and touch my breasts. Joshua likes to poke them, but Joseph actually rubs them. Weird, but at least they're doing it at home, and not in public.
It's not just boys! My 2 1/2 year old daughter started doing this recently...so we had a little anatomy lesson. Once she knew that breasts are just another body part and what their function is she quit! I don't know if that would work with your boys, but it sure worked in our house :)
